North American Knowledge Center (Waltham) Research Analyst
Overview:
Research/Information Analysts assist teams by collecting, summarizing, analyzing, and synthesizing facts that serve as critical inputs to client service teams, interpreting their findings into implications for consulting teams. As an Analyst, you also help to provide alternatives for data that is not readily available, drawing upon both your steadily growing expertise about your chosen knowledge domain, and your ability to leverage the Knowledge Management (KM) network and resources. Analysts work on team requests requiring specific source expertise, research, and analysis. You are expected to have and develop significant source knowledge, understanding quality, cost and potential suitability to address a variety of team needs, as well as contribute to building successful KM teams with a distinctive service culture and community spirit.
Detailed Description:

You gather the necessary raw information using a broad spectrum of sources and organize, analyze, and synthesize the findings into targeted, McKinsey-formatted end products. These end products may be in the form of packs, single exhibits, written summaries, and spreadsheets.

Knowledge development. You are expected to develop a knowledge spike, acquiring an appropriately broad understanding of the relevant structure, players, and trends in your topic area(s). You also need to become familiar with the McKinsey knowledge network and relevant sources.

Unit Contribution. You will participate in knowledge building efforts and people development processes. Additionally, you are expected to actively promote and contribute to knowledge sharing and coaching with colleagues. All team members take on and participate in activities beyond their immediate responsibilities.
